Early Spring 2024 I went there for lap band removal . I requested revision to sleeve but without ever seeing me or any medical records they told me I was only candidate for mini gastric bypass or OAGB. I did lot of research and was referred by friend to them . I’ve been unable to work since the surgery because I have to wear diapers . When consulted with nurse Cindy and co founder Michelle I was told “my body just didn’t handle the surgery” . I went to bariatric specialist and he immediately saw the issue was that my anastomosis was left too long . The amount of unprofessional attitude I received from Michelle was jaw dropping . She has NO medical degree . She is simply a confounder . They advised I could fly back to Tijuana but I’d have to pay all over again . While I was there I was in so much pain my roommate was concerned and went to get nurses for me cause the beds buttons were disconnected. She returned pushing her own IV pole in shock with mouth open explaining all the nurses were piled on floor behind nurses desk ASLEEP ! No one ever came ! No one came in hotel either . I stayed in bed crying and praying . Awful experience! I couldn’t attend “nutritionist” meeting cause if the pain and no one called . No one cared. Every time I tried to get help at nurses desk on 9th floor of the hotel no one was there ! I tried 3 times and gave up !
In hospital,My IV had blood in line for 2 days so it wasn’t flowing, it hurt and so I asked to get it flushed and they had no idea what I meant . Later I looked at the IV closer and understood why ! It had NO port to flush . It was super cheap. I have pictures !! This is one of many things that my specialist here explained. Because Mexico has no standards set like the U.S. does they get away with cheapest ways to do things possible . Another example in U.S. medical grade surgical staples are only used . In Mexico no standards and he’s seen patients die due to staples left inside rusting or corrosion. This is your life ! Please don’t risk your life to pay a little less $ like I did !
Listen -Just because the hotels pretty , hospital was clean , price was affordable doesn’t mean it’s a good decision because let me tell you returning home to US then trying to find care once you’ve been to Mexico is the scary part ! It’s hard to find someone willing because of the amount of botched cases and deaths they see . Doctors don’t want that liability. I would not recommend EOC ever ! Stay away !!
