Dr. Zavalza graduated with honours from one of Mexico’s most prestigious medical institutions, the University of Guadalajara in Jalisco, in 2006. During his resident years at the General Hospital of Tijuana, Baja California, he obtained comprehensive training in general surgery. Dr. Zavalza chose bariatric surgery as his specialty and earned a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 2010.
