Background and History

Dr. Roozbeh Ghavami and Dr. Wayne Raneiro, both physicians, were students at Temple University and SMUFOM in 2001 and are the two founders of PhillyMedClub. The two doctors are neighbors of the Fishtown community, and they opened the practice just for people in their community.

Their founding motivation: “Our primary reason for starting PhillyMedClub is to make patient care the center of our practice, to be there when you need us, and to be a practice you can trust. This is the kind of old-school medicine that our grandparents were accustomed to, but sadly has been lost over the years. Our goal is to bring back what was lost and give it a modern twist.”

Dr. Ghavami is a residency-trained internist with a background in critical care medicine and a proven successful history of excellent patient satisfaction scores (scoring in the top 95% nationally with Press Ganey scores). He is the only resident to have won the faculty award for academic and medical excellence and the nursing award for patient care and compassion all three years of his residency.

The practice has been named one of the top medical aesthetics in the Philadelphia area by “Best of Philadelphia.”
