Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz is a board-certified, bi-lingual bariatric surgeon licensed in both the United States and Mexico with 10 years of expertise and over 5,000 procedures. She received her doctorate at the University of Texas Health Science Centre in Houston and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
During her medical internship, she worked as a visiting physician at the University of Texas Medical Centre in Saint Luke’s Episcopal, Methodist, and Memorial Hermann Hospitals. She then earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases at the University of Texas Health Science Centre Houston’s Cardiovascular Investigation Centre. Dr. Rodriguez finished her residency at the Autonomous University of Baja California General Hospital of Tijuana and the High Specialty Ambulatory Surgery (UNEME) after finishing her studies in Texas. The Mexican Council of General Surgery has recognised her as a surgeon, and the Mexican College of Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Medicine has accredited her as a bariatric surgeon. Dr. Rodriguez also finished a rotation in Bogota, Colombia to do Gastric Bypass surgery. She is a member of the Mexican College of General Surgeons.

Dr. Rodriguez was an experienced paramedic, highly trained in CPR, and the youngest paramedic certified in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) by the American College of Surgeons at the age of 13. The Surgical Review Corporation dubbed her a Master Surgeon of Excellence, and she has contributed to more than 20 globally recognised publications.
